Drawing on my work and personal life experiences, as well as my knowledge and experience as a Financial Advisor and financial planner, I guide my clients through the challenges they face with understanding and compassion, helping them make decisions toward their long-term financial goals.
My extensive background in accounting provides a strong foundation for my financial practice. Having worked for a CPA for several years, I prepared financial statements for businesses, managed payroll, accounts receivable and accounts payable, and gained experience in income tax preparation. Subsequent positions provided me with additional experience in cost and production accounting, and sales.
Prior to becoming a Financial Advisor, I managed a multi-million dollar corporation in the hospitality and real estate development industry. The experience of building and financing major business projects, and analyzing cash flow to ensure viability, has proven invaluable to my practice.
My work and personal experiences have enabled me to demonstrate ideas and concepts and provide real-life examples that enhance my ability to serve my clients.

Keeping a balance between family and work is very important to me. My husband and I spend most of our free time enjoying the outdoors. Our two sons and their families join us occasionally on our outdoor adventures and family dinners.
I am dually passionate about wildlife conservation and giving back to the community that has offered me so many opportunities.

Daniel Hanson

My background combines hands‑on industry experience, academic training, and a disciplined planning approach. Six years in the construction industry taught me the value of hard work, adaptability, and practical problem‑solving. Those experiences also shaped my desire to build a career that allowed me to be present with my family and contribute to my community.
When the opportunity arose to join a fast‑growing wealth advisory team, I chose to complete my degree and fully commit to this path. After graduating magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Economics and Finance from Southern New Hampshire University, I became a Financial Advisor with D.A. Davidson, serving clients in our Coeur d’Alene and Sandpoint offices.
A Sandpoint native, I’m deeply connected to the lifestyle and values of our region. My wife, Melissa, and I spend much of our time outdoors with our two children, Nash and Rowan, hiking local trails, skiing the slopes of Schweitzer, and making the most of life on Lake Pend Oreille. I’m also an avid golfer and enjoy both watching and coaching my kids’ sports. This community is home, and helping families here navigate their financial lives with confidence is both my profession and my passion.

Megan Jackson
Client Associate
Megan joined Sentinel Financial Management in the Fall of 2022. She brings years of experience in a similar role at another reputable financial firm, where she honed her skills in account management and client service. Born and raised in our picturesque town of Sandpoint, she has a deep connection to her community and takes great pride in the area that shaped her.
As a key member of the team, Megan is responsible for managing the day-to-day details of account processing, addressing client inquiries, scheduling appointments, and ensuring the smooth operation of the practice. Her clients appreciate her exceptional attention to detail, consistent proactive communication, and her ability to provide thoughtful, tailored solutions. Megan is passionate about creating a seamless and positive experience for each client, ensuring their needs are met with care and efficiency.
Outside of work, Megan enjoys spending quality time with her husband, Seth, and their two children. Together, they love exploring the great outdoors, whether it’s hiking, swimming, or simply enjoying the beauty of nature.
